DVD FAQ

1) Do I need any special equipment for DVD?

All you need is a DVD player. The other pieces of equipment, such as cables and monitors, are the same as for other video systems.

2) Are DVDs the same thing as CDs?

No. DVDs and CDs are two different kinds discs that just happen to be the same size. Because of the differences, CD and CD-ROM players will not play DVDs. However, most DVD players and drives will play CDs making the upgrade seamless.

3) Will the DVD play on all DVD players?

As with any new set of standards, compatibility between companies was a problem early on. The majority of these problems have been solved. The DVDs created at 20/20 are technically "DVD-R"s and will play on most newer DVD players and in all computer DVD drives. The more universal "DVD" can be created from your DVD-R if you desire quantities of five hundred or more. For specific compatibility inquiries, please contact us.

4) How much video can I fit on a DVD?

The quality of a DVD is determined by a thing called bit-rate. Bit-rate is the amount of data contained in every second of video. The higher the bit-rate, the better the image. Our standard process runs at a high bit-rate and will fit two hours on one DVD. But if quantity is more important than quality, we have the ability to fit up to eight hours on the same DVD.
